I just found this site and I really like it. There are so many more really fine coffees available now than when I first learned to taste coffee in the 60s in San Francisco working for a couple of Green Coffee importers. I really enjoy blending the very best coffees I can find in varietal form, using 3 different roasts with the goal of getting a cup with coffee forward aromas, nice balance in acidity and body and a finish about 9 miles long from the combination of the roasts that are available to me here in the Milwaukee market.

Now if I could just find a roaster with the guts to take a really good Yirgasheff to it's fullest roast, I would be a happy camper.

For me, it's often not that you rate only the top. I like that. I enjoy seeing what is getting that nod. For me, sometimes, it's buying that coffee (Esmeralda and Geisha come to mind) and saying 'Ew, that doesn't taste like coffee', yet you guys love it. That's what I have a hard time understanding.

Yes, I know they are 'unique'. But why does that make them better?
